Students in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) receive one of the best education in the country.  Our faculty are ranked as the best in agricultural sciences, according to Science Watch magazine.  The college is also known for its outstanding teaching facilities conveniently located on campus.  They include a dairy cattle center, muscle biology lab, greenhouse, and livestock lab.  CALS also has 13 research stations all across Wisconsin from a forest camp, golf course/turf station to thousands of acres of research land and livestock research centers.

Our students do some of their best learning working in labs, fields, streams and office towers.  They get high-quality, hands-on, real-world experiences through internships, international exchange programs, part-time jobs, and research experiences.

We award approximately $400,000 every year to our students.  Scholarships are based on financial need, career plans, major interest, and academics.

TIME OF YOUR LIFE
The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences is a small college of only 2,100 undergrads, divided into 25 majors.  Students in CALS receive lots of personal attention through faculty advisors and academic staff.  The average class size in CALS is 30 students.  Our student to faculty rate is 10:1.
CALS students are active.  We have 27 different student clubs, from Badger Dairy Club, Saddle and Sirloin Club, Collegiate FFA, and 4-H, to various judging teams that travel nationally to compete with other colleges.  The university also offers the excitement of “Big 10” sporting events, not to mention tons of other clubs and activities.
